Emergency Services
The Emergency Department at Nelson County Health System is a Level 5 Trauma Center that provides care to patients with urgent medical conditions. Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, staffed by a provider and nursing staff. All staff working in the Emergency Department have received specialized training in Emergency management, treatment of trauma, cardiac and other emergent situations. They all are certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
eEmergency Services
Our Emergency Department is equipped with an eEmergency system. eEmergency is a two way audio/video system that allows our ER provider and nurses to be linked to the Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. This system gives our ER staff immediate access to Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians at Avera.
